We give thanks for a time of blessing on Sunday with our brothers and sisters and a few contacts here in Sihanoukville.
In the past the timing of the Sunday worship has been moved around a lot for various reasons and could take place anywhere between a Thursday and a Sunday. But recently some of our students have been asking 'When/where do we worship? Can I come?' So we have decided to make a big effort to hold the weekly worship at a regular time so that students can attend and participate/witness this important part of our community life.
Sunday 22nd June was our first occasion: 5:30pm! The weather was horrendous - torrential rain for most of the day, but to our amazement 4 keen students joined us for the first time at our memorial [Chan & Chanty, Srey Mom(who came with 3 small children she was baby-sitting) & Rotha]. All seemed to enjoy the singing and the exhortation on the life of Jacob. We are thankful for all the hard work put in by bro Sophorn and sis Srey Pov who showed great hospitality and provided us with a lovely fellowship meal afterwards.
We believe this is a small step, but an important one in the growth of an ecclesia here at BEC2. We hope more will join with time, God Willing, so they can get to know everyone else. Some students are making encouraging progress in their appreciation of the Truth. We pray that Sundays will now provide the opportunity to grow their sense of a family/ecclesia they will want to belong to as part of their journey of Faith.
With love in our Lord,
