Cambodia Bible Education Centre

This is a brief report of our trip to Siem Reap.   More detailed information is available from Vitou. We were asked to go to Siem Reap to set up a BEC, establish an ecclesia and to formalise and follow-up instruction programs. Three groups emerged including; 7 brothers and sisters in isolation; previous contacts, including several people who had attended outreach activities in Phnom Penh and a third group comprised new contacts. Sister Loy and Sophorn also have strong links and interest in this project. We have started a directory of these groups to facilitate future activities including preaching, teaching, shepherding and to include these people in future decision making processes. There is a unique opportunity in Siem Reap to build around the skills and needs of local people. This directory will also support communication between the people who are listed in it. Beloved friends of Jesus, We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day!  The ocean was sparkling and inviting. The view out to the coastal islands was wonderfully clear.  The creation sang and our hearts sang too for the new Creation in our Lord Jesus being formed in Rosie. Twelve brothers and sisters (+ 9 children & friends) gathered under the beach pine trees for the joyful occasion.  We sang and prayed together, read of the life-changing experience of Naaman and heard words of encouragement from bro Steve. Rosie then read us a short confession of her faith before we witnessed her baptism into our Lord Jesus. In keeping with Khmer tradition, the brothers and sisters broke into singing 'This is the Day the Lord has made' as Rosie came out of the water.
