Siem Reap Fellowship Weekend

A team of six, led by team leader Loy, left Phnom Penh on Saturday morning to catch the 10:45 flight to Siem Reap to spend the weekend there. Loy was able to take advantage of a special promotion offered by Cambodia Air to purchase some cheap tickets for the trip, which allowed some sisters from Phnom Penh to join us without having to take time off work. We were all looking forward to two days of fellowship with isolated brothers and sisters in the north. Our aims were to support the new ecclesia in Siem Reap, to add to the list of contacts and to investigate the availability of rental properties for a modified BEC following up on the guidelines provided by the BEC Executive Committee. For three of the sisters it was their first experience of flying. Various comments included “scared”, “happy and scared” ranging to feelings of “just okay”. The girls looked glamorous in their best clothes, as we sat waiting for our flight. We boarded the plane and found our seats. Thre...

Ecclesial Bible Week at Sihanoukville

We have just experienced a very encouraging time attending the annual Cambodian Study Week featuring three new births! Brother Vanna and Sister Kunthy were baptised at a local beach joining us in our journey towards God's Kingdom, while local Brother Savy and Sister Tueng were blessed with the birth of a baby son. The baptisms were just another reminder of what a fruitful area for the preaching of the Gospel Cambodia is, and we would encourage field-workers old and new to assist the Ecclesia's here and encourage them in their spiritual growth. The Study Week, led by Bro. Matthew Bradley from Sydney Australia on the theme of "Spiritual Life & Participation" was attended by Brothers and Sisters and young people from all over Cambodia, some of whom live in isolated regions.  Bro. Matt developed his theme following the lives of five brothers who demonstrated great faith in their lives (Caleb, Boaz, Mordecai, Philip and Barnabas). The studies which were t...

Teaching at the Dorms

For some time the students at Bethezer dormitories have been encouraged to come for lessons at the BEC. Interest in lessons dropped and so it was decided to go back to making lessons available at the dorms now that more fieldworkers are available. There has been an immediate, positive response. Eighteen of the ‘boy dormers’ and seventeen of the ‘girl dormers’ have attended at least one lesson with many others attending consistently. The lessons are held between 7:30 to 8:30am and 5:30 to 7pm. The ‘dorm service’ each morning at 6am has attracted 100% attendance on most days and has provided us with an opportunity to discuss good early morning habits, healthy lifestyles and making God the focus of our days. We will continue to build habits such as prayer and thanking God for everything that He gives us. The general climate of the dorms has become very positive and everyone at the BEC feels encouraged by this. The playfulness and abundance of laughter, that has been a highli...

Updated on what is happening in Camboida missionary works?

Our teaching  time has come to an end and now we have to think about returning home! We have mixed feelings. We want to see our family and friends so much, but we will miss our dear brothers and sisters and our students here in Cambodia.  We have spent just over three months in fellowship with our Cambodian brothers and sisters and rejoicing in teaching others through  the Word of God. It is so exciting to wake each day knowing you have interested students to teach and share the gospel of joy and peace. This is a wonderful way to feel a real purpose in life. We really enjoy living how God wants us to live. Go into all the world and preach the Gospel! May others be ready to joy in the teaching here! To visit the mission fields and meet so many who want to hear the word of God is a very positive and quite a  life changing experience. There are 124 classes run at the BEC 1 over 6 days. These classes provide teaching for approx. 50 students. The great thing here...
