Teaching at BEC is going full steam ahead at present with nine of us sharing the accommodation here and the workload! Everyone is getting along so well and it is inspiring to find that so many lessons are taking place at once. At times, we are struggling to find quiet corners for yet another lesson. Many of our contacts are bringing friends along, so some of our groups are growing day by day. Everyone is enjoying the early morning starts. The tuk tuk leaves BEC for early morning studies at 5.45 to Bethezer dorms and returns at 8.30. During this time there are three fieldworkers at BEC teaching other groups. Breakfast time is quite chaotic as everyone tries to grab some fruit or a piece of toast between 5.30 and 6am followed by quick bites to eat when time allows.

Last Sunday we completed a modified version of Learn to Read the Bible Effectively with our Sunday morning group of students from LCDI. Those who were able to consistently attend each Sunday were presented with certificates.

Kim and Tim have been teaching at the dorms and at BEC and have been a wonderful example to us all in their tireless commitment. Asher and Marvin, who are only recently baptised, have willingly taken the plunge to teach, which is not an easy thing to do in such an unfamiliar environment. Rachelle has developed a wonderful rapport with the girl dormers and has spent time with them studying God's word. Gracie and Rachelle have been happy to give sister Theavy a rest from Sunday School for two weeks. They are putting a lot of effort into preparing exciting lessons for the children who loved having new teachers last week.

Marvin has been enjoying riding around Phnom Penh on the bicycle and the moto and looks quite confident in his new 'home'. The boys at the dorm have included him in some games of volleyball along with Asher. Marvin has discovered that the swimming pool at Olympic Stadium is close by and a great way to exercise.

Sadly, Kim will be leaving on Friday, but we are excited to be welcoming Samee and Lara from Sydney, God willing, tomorrow evening. It has been so good to have Kim with us for the last two weeks and his contribution has been enormous. Thank you Kim and thank you God!

Well, dear Readers, Things have been busy here with preparation for our seminar this weekend. Catering, printing, emailing and phoning have been occupying our hours. James is sitting opposite me on the table working on his talks for Friday. We have had quite a number of bookings for our seminar and the numbers have only been limited by the size of our premises. God willing, all will attend and we’ll have a good two days of talks and chatting. We’re planning, God willing, a boat cruise as our social activity and that should be a blast since we can have a 2 hour cruise for 50 people for only $20. Have managed to hook up skype credit and tested a mobile call to Prydie. The 5 second lag meant it was like having two random monologues in the same room. The prices was fairly reasonable, but even as 3 cents a minute the cost climbs. James spends much time out on the balcony. He gets good wireless reception. God Proves the Power of Prayer Again and Again

Over the course of my five-month long Cambodia trip I had the opportunity to teach class es at the Bethezer girl dorm regularly . For th ese class es I have a translator so I just get to teach the good news ( none of this dilly-dallying about English teaching ). Our topic on this particular night was prayer. Philippians 4:6 reminded us that God is longing to hear from us just as a father lo ves to hear from his child or how we are just hanging out to get a message from someone we love. We looked at H is promises to answer ALL our prayers while we abide in Jesus Christ (John 15:7) and at Psalm 34:4 where God confidently affirms that when you find your happiness with God, H e will certainly give you more of what makes you happy (Him!). And you can pray for that happiness because God will give you anything that brings you closer to Him so never be afraid to ask! That is nothing but i ncredibly good news !
