G'day everyone
I don't even know where to begin. these past few weeks having been buzzing with activity, non stop.
I am meant to be leaving Cambodia tomorrow, but I think I'll leave things in chronological order So I'll get back to that later.
me and Ben spent a week in Vietnam, we had to get our visas renewed so we checked out a bit of the country anyway. many many stories about Nam....but I guess we'll leave them and focus on Cambodge as this place never stops.
I guess I'll start with the bad news. Gab left for Australia today...so once again there were tears flowing from the girl dormers. I think they will miss her a lot. Michael, Miriam, Sarah Ann, Toby and Tabitha all had to leave on Saturday. many of the dormers came around to say Chum Reap Leah. there were tears on this occassian as well. I think they will all miss Cambodia heaps. they have all done so much for this place, and are worthy of all credit, especially Michael. He never stops. he has done a lot of work and really influenced this place for the positive. I think you would be flat out trying to find a better person for the work over here than him. Thank you all so much...... and I know all the Khmer will miss you heap and heaps. in fact they already are.
Bremners and the Sawells have been running themselves ragged. I felt like the party and call around didn't do that much, but it really has. everyone has filled up there days with teaching, individual students have increased so much more. it is wonderful to see such a response here in Cambodia.
me and Gab went with the about 20 or so dormers to Kampong Thom province on Saturday afternoon. split second decision once again. it was awsome. I'll put photos up later. But while we were there Dany and Brother Vitou got engaded Dany works at the BEC ad it was a cool as event, the second engagment party I've had the honour to experience and the first for Gab. first time Gab went to the province as well, so it was a good experience for her. we had 24 people in a 14 seater bus...and trust me it was squished as. like my knees were level with the top of my chest/neck. no joke. and then me and Gab started singing......funniest thing ever. we sang heaps of songs that all the locals know, so the bus was absolutely thumping with sound. was awsome as. ad than we sang some songs like 66 books of the bible and stuff that they haven't learnt yet, and tried to do it really fast....we were pretty good. except Chumnear and Ren (girl dormers) regularly told me that Gab was a good singer (well heck she studies it for performing) but I sing like a goo (cow in Khmer). haha.
oh and the last part is I've been talking to Michael and Raju and have decided I'm staying on for longer. STOKED AS!!! not sure of the exact date yet...mum and dad only found out tonight, so I've got to talk to them about some stuff. but possibly as long as June. God has truely blessed me. what an amazing oppotunity and experience!
everything is still running really well over here.
I've been having some excellent discussions with some of the boy dormers.
Ben's decided to quit on the banana milk shake contest....he gave in to Gab the weakling :D
everyone is missing the guys who have left
father Kbraham is teaching me to speak Khmer
I'm incredibly tired(due to the dormers making me stay up until 1 or so the other night dancing) and hungry....so I'm going to have to go.
I'm going to have to ask you all to keep Cambodia and the work being done here in your prayers and in your thoughts. something special is really happening here, do yourself a favour and try and involve youself in it in some way. either through prayers or other means. God has really been blessing us here.
anyway Bray Botene Pa (God Bless) from Cambodge.
thanks for enduring through this blog to the end....trying to cut down but so much happens here.
