A New Bible School Experience

Visiting Malaysia - Malaysia is located in the heart of Southeast Asia. Consisting of 127,000 sq. miles (330,200 sq. km), Malaysia is divided into two main regions: Peninsular Malaysia, which lies just south of Thailand, and East Malaysia, which can be found north of Indonesia on the island of Borneo. These two regions are divided into thirteen states and federal territories. Although East Malaysia occupies the larger portion of Malaysia's total area, it is primarily comprised of undeveloped land and jungles.

Malaysia is a land of fascinating sights and attractions. Rich in color and contrasts, her multi-faceted charm provides intriguing images that leave visitors to the country in awe. The natural warmth of Malaysians is legendary; wherever one goes, the friendliness and hospitality of the people would prove to be a very special experience. Malaysia is paradise. Its sun-drenched beaches, enchanting islands, diverse flora and fauna, forest retreats and magnificent mountains are among the best in this region. Many visitors have discovered Malaysia's other attractions: a shopping haven, a versatile conference venue, an incentive destination, an adventure land and much more.

On September 22nd, 2012 we (some brothers and sisters) flew out of Phnom Penh Airport to the Bible School in Malaysia.  Most of us had never gone somewhere by plane so we felt nervous when the plane was going up and when it was going down and some of us felt pain in our ears. We spent almost two hours on the flight from Cambodia to Kuala Lumpur and when we got there we were waiting for the next flight to Penang (the place where we were attending the Bible School).  After few hours stopover we got on our second flight.

Cambodian Attendees
When we arrived at the Penang airport there were two vans to take us to the Vistana Hotel.  We were welcomed so well by brothers and sisters over there. Because of the hotel is funny with an elevator one of our brothers guided us where to go to what floor and room we were to stay in for the week. Talking about food we were thinking maybe we couldn't eat all those kinds of food, but the food was nice so it was acceptable to us (Cambodians).

For our observation we can see the organization of the Bible School was very good, everything was good and I appreciated it a lot.

I enjoyed the lessons so much, especially the topic which was talking about "The Birth of Jesus Christ” and “John's Creation" even though I studied the talks by Brother John Pople on “John’s Creation” before in Cambodia I still felt everything was new for me.  I also enjoyed the outing (go on bus to visit the places) so that we can see the resorts which are famous in Penang.

We met many brothers and sisters from different countries, we think that it's good idea to have Bible School each year and invite brothers and sisters all over the world to come together to share the experiences and ideas.  It is courageous to see so many brothers and sisters all over the world so we are not alone but there are brothers and sisters are wanting to help us. Sometimes we are down and we feel lonely even though we know God is there to help us all the time, the solution is we need God and also our brothers and sisters because we are Christ's body so to know and encourage each other is the best medicine as God's children.

May God be with all of us while we are living in this suffering world for a short time but one day God will wipe away our tears we will live in God’s beautiful kingdom.

Thank you Meng Him for your beautiful thoughts. We are so happy that Cambodians are finding their own voice to speak to brothers and sisters around the world. With love from Bong Thom and Lynne

God Proves the Power of Prayer Again and Again

Over the course of my five-month long Cambodia trip I had the opportunity to teach class es at the Bethezer girl dorm regularly . For th ese class es I have a translator so I just get to teach the good news ( none of this dilly-dallying about English teaching ). Our topic on this particular night was prayer. Philippians 4:6 reminded us that God is longing to hear from us just as a father lo ves to hear from his child or how we are just hanging out to get a message from someone we love. We looked at H is promises to answer ALL our prayers while we abide in Jesus Christ (John 15:7) and at Psalm 34:4 where God confidently affirms that when you find your happiness with God, H e will certainly give you more of what makes you happy (Him!). And you can pray for that happiness because God will give you anything that brings you closer to Him so never be afraid to ask! That is nothing but i ncredibly good news ! We raced through many more quotes and I had expected to strug...

Maybe I'm just a girl

Well, dear Readers, Things have been busy here with preparation for our seminar this weekend. Catering, printing, emailing and phoning have been occupying our hours. James is sitting opposite me on the table working on his talks for Friday. We have had quite a number of bookings for our seminar and the numbers have only been limited by the size of our premises. God willing, all will attend and we’ll have a good two days of talks and chatting. We’re planning, God willing, a boat cruise as our social activity and that should be a blast since we can have a 2 hour cruise for 50 people for only $20. Have managed to hook up skype credit and tested a mobile call to Prydie. The 5 second lag meant it was like having two random monologues in the same room. The prices was fairly reasonable, but even as 3 cents a minute the cost climbs. James spends much time out on the balcony. He gets good wireless reception. It's quite a amusing to peek through the window and see James out on the balcony wa...
