.....Holidays, again??

Chum Reap Sewer neak dang ochnear

Everything here has been going great. Very busy usually, although something unusual has happened this week. Even though I've still got 1 million and 1 jobs to do, once again, here in Kampuchea it's holidays. surprise surprise. I love this country. no wonder everyone loves this place so much! But instead of busily rushing around Phnom Penh, trying to get as many jobs done as I can in the time off, I've found myself managing the boys dorm. Brother Him went with Brother Vong and a few other dormers to Siem Reap for 3 days. So he asked me to watch the boys dorm, and Loy to watch the girls dorm. Now you can only get so much done at the dorms, and Him asked me to stay there as much as I could. You can only get so much done at the dorms, enough to keep me busy most of the time, but I found myself with time to have a snooze in the middle of the day, or time to read a book. it's been great. kinwome kachill pez. It's been good spending time with the dormers, they're all great. But I'm also looking forward to getting back into teaching next week.

Mum's settled in pretty well. been taking her everywhere on the moto with me. went looking for bibles this morning. but due to the holidays (this time it's the kings birthday) all the shops are closed.

I've decided I've had enough of the viva stickers on Baby, thought I'd make it into a BEC bike once and for all. I'm going to be going down to the stickers shop after this, one side is going to say Faith, and the other side is going to say Hope. Boren thought this was good because that is what the BEC is offering, but I couldn't get over that we were missing love, until I realised that was what the person riding the bike was supposed to be showing. So we've got Faith, Hope and Love.

Mum went to the rubbish dump with me the other day. She wrote a fair bit about that. but yer, the corruption of this world makes me feel......angry? Sad? I think Mum said it the best, needful of Christ's return. I was talking about the Kingdom for our Saturday night Mini seminar the other night (which by the way we've been having heaps of visitors come too lately, been great, I had one of them come up and say he loves the thing we were teaching and he wants to keep studying with us, I did it on a breif history of Israel) and I was asking people about things that would change in the Kingdom, one of the dormers yelled out corruption. Now when I think of corruption I think of statistics like 20% of the worlds population consumes 80% of the worlds goods. which I displayed in calling up 5 volunteers and giving one of them 8 mangoes and the other 4 guys 2 mangoes. We live in a very corrupt world, going to places like the dump, and then seeing places like Naga world (a big gambling center that is very expensive) make me sick. We need Christ back a lot.

Brother Vitou and Brother K have been waking up at 4:00 in the morning with me to do a morning prayer. It's so uplifting to start your day with your brothers in communication to your father, to lay before him all your worries and cares. It's so good to see this sort of enthusiasm as well.

I said in my last blog that I got a schedule and now I felt organised, people back in Australia who know me won't believe this, but I've got a breif case/extendable file as well. I AM getting organised. and me and Josh are getting proffessional looking shirts made up. with BEC logos on them and everything. It's great.

anyways I better keep moving, I'm finally finished my duties at the dorms, so I've got those million and 1 jobs to finish. I found out that there have been people praying for Cambodia a lot, I didn't really know that. I was so excited. I have to say thanks to everybody who has been doing that. that really is wonderful news, please keep up the good work.

thanks for taking the time to log onto this sight and read this badly written article, so you have a feeling about what is happening here. I might see all of you tomorrow in Zion, when finally our risen and returning Lord will come back with healing in his wings, to wipe away that disgusting corruption, violence and hate. we do need him

even so come Lord Jesus

Love always in his name
your little brother Jonno

the world and it's desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever!

Maybe I'm just a girl

Well, dear Readers, Things have been busy here with preparation for our seminar this weekend. Catering, printing, emailing and phoning have been occupying our hours. James is sitting opposite me on the table working on his talks for Friday. We have had quite a number of bookings for our seminar and the numbers have only been limited by the size of our premises. God willing, all will attend and we’ll have a good two days of talks and chatting. We’re planning, God willing, a boat cruise as our social activity and that should be a blast since we can have a 2 hour cruise for 50 people for only $20. Have managed to hook up skype credit and tested a mobile call to Prydie. The 5 second lag meant it was like having two random monologues in the same room. The prices was fairly reasonable, but even as 3 cents a minute the cost climbs. James spends much time out on the balcony. He gets good wireless reception. It's quite a amusing to peek through the window and see James out on the balcony wa...

God Proves the Power of Prayer Again and Again

Over the course of my five-month long Cambodia trip I had the opportunity to teach class es at the Bethezer girl dorm regularly . For th ese class es I have a translator so I just get to teach the good news ( none of this dilly-dallying about English teaching ). Our topic on this particular night was prayer. Philippians 4:6 reminded us that God is longing to hear from us just as a father lo ves to hear from his child or how we are just hanging out to get a message from someone we love. We looked at H is promises to answer ALL our prayers while we abide in Jesus Christ (John 15:7) and at Psalm 34:4 where God confidently affirms that when you find your happiness with God, H e will certainly give you more of what makes you happy (Him!). And you can pray for that happiness because God will give you anything that brings you closer to Him so never be afraid to ask! That is nothing but i ncredibly good news ! We raced through many more quotes and I had expected to strug...
