seinookvile

we went out to lcdi as sarah vogal is leaving back to nz after a 4 month stint in cambodia and 13months overseas doing mission work (good work sarah, we'll miss you), and lcdi did a special talent night for her

when we got there there was a table with flowers all over it and chairs for us - it was so nice

we had dudes being throw in the air doing backflips and traditional dancing and a fasion show which was diabolical (if thats a work ill use it, but i dont know what it means but it sound the right word to put in)

then we did dancing to both western and khmer music, and they taught us to dance khmer style, and the cool thing is i called on of the students teacher for teaching me to dance and it was one of the most amazing reactions ive encounter, it was a bit like that they had no confidence or belief or something like that....ill try to explain as your goin '"what the??"

they respect you (as you spend a couple of months of your life to help them) and have huge praise of you and soak you up, and when you go to them "thank you teacher for teacher for teaching me" it is like them thinking "i can, i am able" it gives them a huge boost, as they are thinking all they can do is learn, it gives them a sence of pride in themselve (which is what you need) makes them feel like are someone and are able to change thing, as these people we are teaching ARE cambodias future.

so i hope that helps with you to understand, if not youll just have to come and experience it :)

jonno experienced depth while we were dancing, how you ask?? well jonno was dancing away and then fell into the open sewer (the one that josh washed his face in) and he almost drowned. we didnt let him in the tuk tuk on the way home and made him find his own way back.

monday (sorry for going back it time but thats what the photos do as well. thats how they order things and write stories up here in the northern hemasphere and even the sun goes down the other way when you look at it

so any way we hired motos and drove for half and hour out to the hammock place, me,sammy, jonno,k,sarah v and sarah w. it was so cool (ive had three on the motos as im taking them around - poor baby)

so we stayed out there and had coconuts and chicken and fis, it was good feed
that night gab egginton came and will be with us for a couple of months, and we showed her the sights of the city and how to ride over here
next week is a holiday (i love cambodia-heaps of holidays) so everyone is going somewhere around the place
loy is up at her parents place this week
jonno is staying at the boys dorm this week
jonno did the worship service on sunday (first one hes ever done) and did it on light and how jc is the light of the world and salvation is cos of him
baptised boys got right into moday nights leadership class
baby got a flat front tire, so we got it fixed (wheel is aligned now) and revs are still low
my record of 5 banana smothies in 24 hrs still stands (and that was half a pawpaw shake as well)
about to go to asian spice, then russian markets
got a moto from bec to russian markets 1500 riel (33cents) - i am a hard man
almost have a tan (i wish) then got sun burnt so there goes that hope
i need my daily banana shake fix
could have got happy in it for $2 in seinookville
ok ill go now
bye
luv ben xo

God Proves the Power of Prayer Again and Again

Over the course of my five-month long Cambodia trip I had the opportunity to teach class es at the Bethezer girl dorm regularly . For th ese class es I have a translator so I just get to teach the good news ( none of this dilly-dallying about English teaching ). Our topic on this particular night was prayer. Philippians 4:6 reminded us that God is longing to hear from us just as a father lo ves to hear from his child or how we are just hanging out to get a message from someone we love. We looked at H is promises to answer ALL our prayers while we abide in Jesus Christ (John 15:7) and at Psalm 34:4 where God confidently affirms that when you find your happiness with God, H e will certainly give you more of what makes you happy (Him!). And you can pray for that happiness because God will give you anything that brings you closer to Him so never be afraid to ask! That is nothing but i ncredibly good news ! We raced through many more quotes and I had expected to strug...

Maybe I'm just a girl

Well, dear Readers, Things have been busy here with preparation for our seminar this weekend. Catering, printing, emailing and phoning have been occupying our hours. James is sitting opposite me on the table working on his talks for Friday. We have had quite a number of bookings for our seminar and the numbers have only been limited by the size of our premises. God willing, all will attend and we’ll have a good two days of talks and chatting. We’re planning, God willing, a boat cruise as our social activity and that should be a blast since we can have a 2 hour cruise for 50 people for only $20. Have managed to hook up skype credit and tested a mobile call to Prydie. The 5 second lag meant it was like having two random monologues in the same room. The prices was fairly reasonable, but even as 3 cents a minute the cost climbs. James spends much time out on the balcony. He gets good wireless reception. It's quite a amusing to peek through the window and see James out on the balcony wa...
