Sis Thany Long

I had been studying at the BEC for about five months. I found out about the BEC through my friend, she is my schoolmate. I felt really thankful that she introduced to me. Why am I felling like that? Because It is really wonderful for me to knowing God and heard about the truth that I never knew before. It is the “truth from God”. Exactly, before I studied at the BEC, I used to know and heard a little bite about Christianity but until I came to study at the BEC I found the truth. since I came to study at the Bible, all people around me always say bad things about God and make me not like this religion but the Bible does not teach like what they say. From day to day the more I spend time with the Bible my thinking is starting to change. All words in the Bible are opening my mind to accept Him to be my God, because everything are reasonable for amazing proofs.

In fact, in the first time for me I came here because I just wanted to study English. Because I thought that English is really importance, but now the Bible is the most important for me to keep studying. Last two moths I decided to study baptism class when I finished I got baptized. My life is changing now because I had known God and he forgives me for everything that I did wrong and forgive me forever, he cleans my sin. Especially, I am living in hope. I am the one of deservers what He has promised and I will be in the kingdom of God too. Now I am apart of God’s family. For new life I should honor, follow, obey and listen to greatest Father from all my strength and all my heart because he is perfect and he wants me doing everything good.

At the end, I am delighted to thank you BEC, and all teachers that teach me.

Sis Lalin Mealen

I found out about the Bible through the younger brother of my sisters fiance. He told me to come an study English with him for free. My first lesson at the BEC was with Bernie. She taught me about Adam & Eve and gave me some clues about how everything in the world will change. All i had to do was believe in Christ. After studying for three of four months i decided that i wanted to change my life. because my previous life was bad and the Bible taught about how to trust in Christ and he could forgive my sin. On the 4th of May 2015 i became a sister in Christ.

Bro Darith Sorn

I am Sorn Darith, sex male and I’m 23 years old. In my family there are five people; my mother, two brothers and a sister and me. I’m the first child in the family. For my home life I live in open conditional life. If we compare from the present I am living in the dorm to my life before I think that it is really different, because before I never get any encouragement from someone but when I came to live in the dormitory, this place has been transforming me to a new person like make me brave, strong and help other people when they faced problems and I started to study and to know the BEC and dormitory since 2012 so during my life there it make me know very clearly about God. Especially the bible has changed my life a lot of such as: make me become brave, confident to do something because we trust in God be always stay with us. For my future goal isn’t achievable yet but I belief that God will does for me, if I pray to Him for help. One more thing the reason that encourages becoming a Christian because I trust in God and everything in the Bible is true. Especially Christian always helps each other when their members faced the problem and show love to each other. Through the bible and the truth we have to get be baptize only one way that can save us from our sin. If I cannot be part of BEC or dormer may be I don’t know the Bible or God’s words. On the other hand, I know many people from different countries, and we have a good relationship. In fact not only know Bible and foreigners actually I have improve my English language knowledge with them also.

For my life before I studied the Bible I heard that: “if we believed Christ, we will not allow get into the pagoda or obey or give respect to our parents” and one ore “if we trust or believed Jesus we will forgive all what our guiltiness and go to the heaven after we died”. But after I get to know what in the Bible said and I get baptized and learn about God’s words it is different between what they just said. Because of Christian not just depending on Jesus, we need to realize on ourselves how repentance were we also, even we get baptize but we did not change our activities we will not saved. So the Bible is very good book to read and if we try to read we’ll get a lot of knowledge and if make us very clear about Christian not like before.

Bro Sam Ath Sum

My name is Sam ath Sum, 22 years old. I’m from Svay Rieng province. And now I am a student a university. My major is Chemistry.

My old life is not good at communication with other people who live around me but since I moved to stay at the dorm for nearly 4 year I have been improved a lot. I would like to give thanks to my parents who gave me the opportunity and very kind and support to send me to Phnom Penh to continuing my Bachelor Degree after finished high school. When I came to Phnom Penh I don’t know where am i going to stay? But God called me to know the Bethezer domiroty and I was given a good chance to stay there. I have been staying at the dormitory since 22th September 2011.

When came to stay at the dormitory and study the Bible I have understood a lot of thing and I got the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Especially I knew clearly about Jesus Christ. The Bible can change my life to be a better compare to my old life. And we are in Christ and for the future we will be with Christ in the Kingdom. We will be entering to the kingdom of God.

I believe that there is only one God who lives in heaven and He can help us a lot of things. I want to change my old life through get baptized and follow Jesus’s commandments.

If I did not know the dormitory I don’t know how my life going to be now or don’t know how to be good person in Christ Jesus. Before knowing Christ Jesus I used to heard from Christian said” you will not honor your parents” when I have studied about Jesus Christ I found that what I heard from others wasn’t right and now I am very clear what the Bible exactly teaching and I decided to believe and got baptized on 2nd August 2015. I want to tell them the true about God’s words and the gospel salvation to them and make them clearly.

I found the thing very important for my life that is accepted God into my whole life and follow His son. I thought that my old life was bad but now I got baptize and living in hope will saved by Christ Jesus. The life is living with spiritual from God will make confident every time when I do something and got more educations from God and from old brothers and sisters who are enthusiastic.

When I found the true and learn about Christ’s life examples I am will be useless or selfish if I haven’t do something to someone as tell about good news or words of God in me. So I have some idea for help others to understand the Bible, we should be teach to the children and friends. If we have some friends that they want to know God, we can invite them to join with us.

Bro Punleu Thy

But because of God have called me, now I have been a dormer. The firstly, I didn’t know who is God. Long after, I enroll in Bible class and start to attend the worship service in the dormitory and at the BEC then the truth about the Bible appeared to me and I started to recognize who is God from day to day living with his word more and more.

Dormitory is the place where I can be surrounded by the Bible Example from brethren and sister and FWs. I have been living here for three years so far.  The Bible is very clear teaching me about God and his plan with human which is very different from what I had heard from someone. Finally I decided to get baptized on the 2nd August 2015.

Follow Christ Jesus, he teaches all people how to live in good life, love, kind, honor…. . as I got baptized because I heard about the Good news through studying and belief that there is only one true God can save me from my sins. Now repented through baptism in the name of Christ Jesus and I hope that he is my savoir on the other hand I became a God’s children.

Bro Maily

Hello brothers and sisters who are living overseas. To start off my story, I would like to introduce my background to all of you so you know more about me. I’m Maily Chou, sex male, and my age is 19. I was born in Svay Reing Province. I have one younger sister, her name is Malieve Chou, and she is 17. My father’s name is Nen Kim, he is 53, and my mother’s name is Sary Mom, she is 55. They are all Buddhist. I live in a family and a home that is very open. They don’t really care about religion at all, they aren’t strict about it. Moreover, my life, before I lived in the dormitory or joined the Bible Education center, I found to be a bit difficult because I did not know what to think, what to care about, and what to do with my life. I didn’t have friends to talk to when I was sad about my university or my life, but I found someone that I really can talk to who never stops listening to me; He is so amazing and powerful and he lives above the earth. I have been living in the dormitory since the beginning of October 2014 and during this time I have spent a lot of time at the Bible education center. I really love both of these places because they have taught me about what I have to do with my life and I also have a wonderful chance to learn about God’s word in the Bible. The Bible has changed my life so much because now I know what I should do and shouldn’t do. The Bible has taught me what to think about, and commands me to be a good example to others. My future hopes are salvation from death, teaching the nations, entering God’s kingdom, and being given eternal life. When I understood the Bible I decided to become a Christian. I didn’t want to follow my parents and the way that they walked because it wasn’t what the bible taught that made me mad. When I lived with my parents I lived in fear of being open and showing the world who I am. But since I have been studying the Bible it has been teaching me not to fear or be afraid of anything in this world because God is powerful and will always be with me wherever I am. He won’t let me fall down because I am his masterpiece and precious to Him. I decided I wanted to be baptized in May 2015. I wanted to be baptized because I wanted to have a forgiveness for my sins from God, obey His commands, to be with Jesus Christ, which is the only way to be saved, and have an eternal life when we enter God’s kingdom. My parents allowed me to decide what I want to be in my future. I don’t want to stay or live in my old life like them, I want to have a new life in Christ Jesus. If I wasn’t a part of this dormitory or Bible Education center, my life would be in darkness and I wouldn’t know what is the real light of the world. But now I know what the real light is. Before I was a Christian I used to hear, “you will not honor your parents when you believed in Christ Jesus, and we will go to heaven when we die.” But all of these things were totally wrong when I believed in Jesus Christ. The bible says it very clear about these things in Ephesians 6:1-4, it tells us that we should do a good things to our parents, and the bible also tells us what will happen when we die; it is in Job 14:10-12, Psalm 6:5. I know what will happen to me when I die. My life is now about spiritual education. I am trying to work harder to achieve my goals for when the kingdom comes. Before I hardly read the Bible because I thought that it is wasting my time to read it, but now things have changed and I read the Bible once per day to understand what God wants for us. I now realized that it is the most important thing to understand, because God has put a special thing in it, so I have to know about it. I now know that the Bible is the most exciting book ever. The Bible has opened my eyes from my previous life, it has brought me out of darkness into the light of Christ.

God Proves the Power of Prayer Again and Again

Over the course of my five-month long Cambodia trip I had the opportunity to teach class es at the Bethezer girl dorm regularly . For th ese class es I have a translator so I just get to teach the good news ( none of this dilly-dallying about English teaching ). Our topic on this particular night was prayer. Philippians 4:6 reminded us that God is longing to hear from us just as a father lo ves to hear from his child or how we are just hanging out to get a message from someone we love. We looked at H is promises to answer ALL our prayers while we abide in Jesus Christ (John 15:7) and at Psalm 34:4 where God confidently affirms that when you find your happiness with God, H e will certainly give you more of what makes you happy (Him!). And you can pray for that happiness because God will give you anything that brings you closer to Him so never be afraid to ask! That is nothing but i ncredibly good news ! We raced through many more quotes and I had expected to strug...

Maybe I'm just a girl

Well, dear Readers, Things have been busy here with preparation for our seminar this weekend. Catering, printing, emailing and phoning have been occupying our hours. James is sitting opposite me on the table working on his talks for Friday. We have had quite a number of bookings for our seminar and the numbers have only been limited by the size of our premises. God willing, all will attend and we’ll have a good two days of talks and chatting. We’re planning, God willing, a boat cruise as our social activity and that should be a blast since we can have a 2 hour cruise for 50 people for only $20. Have managed to hook up skype credit and tested a mobile call to Prydie. The 5 second lag meant it was like having two random monologues in the same room. The prices was fairly reasonable, but even as 3 cents a minute the cost climbs. James spends much time out on the balcony. He gets good wireless reception. It's quite a amusing to peek through the window and see James out on the balcony wa...
