This past week has seen a flurry of building activity, complete with banging and sawing sounds, as K worked his magic to construct and install a permanent partition in one of the bedrooms. Since we moved in, the middle bedroom has had a temporary bamboo partition separating the space used for the office, and that used by Srey Pov as her bedroom. We felt that it was past time this was made into something more permanent, and seeing as the landlord had forbidden us drilling any holes into the pillars (he was worried it would weaken the structure of the whole building - not a good thing since a university rests upon us!), K innovatively created a partition that rests on brackets attached to the wall. All in all I was pretty amazed (and secretly proud) of what he has managed to build with just a hammer, measuring tape and handsaw.

While K was busy working his magic, the quote that came to mind was "unless the LORD builds the house, they labour in vain who build it". It is so applicable to the work that we are doing down here. We know that without God's blessing on our work, our new ecclesia will not flourish and grow. Yet with our good Father's hand upon us, we can be confident that we can achieve the things He wants and needs us to achieve for Him. Our Bro Savvy often talks and prayers about God strengthening and building His house down here - it is encouraging for me to see his faith and sincerity, and to hear his genuine plea to God to work with those here in Sihanoukville. We are pleased that the coming week will see two new teachers down here (a couple of sisters from Aussie) and we hope that the new classes we are advertising will quickly fill up, enabling them to utilise their time wisely.
