First
God's creation
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The
earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said,
“Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good.
And God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and
the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning. For
by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible,
whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created
through him and for him. Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after
our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the
birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over
every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
Adam & Eve
But it shall come to pass, if you do not
obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all his commandments
and his statues which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon
you and overtake you: cursed shall you be in the city and cursed shall you be
in the country. Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. Cursed
shall be the fruit of your body and the produce of your land, the increase of
your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. Cursed shall you be when you come
in and cursed shall you be when you go out. The Lord will send on you cursing,
confusion and rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are
destroyed and until you have perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your
doings in which you have forsaken me. The Lord will make the plaque cling to
you until he has consumed you from the land which you are going to possess.
Rubbish in
Cambodia
"The
world faces a number of major environmental issues, which threaten to have dire
consequences for the future of the planet and its life-forms unless tackled.
Many of these environmental problems are man-made, the result of pressures the
human race has placed on the planet through activities such as land clearance,
globalization and industrialization. Environmental problems contribute to
global warming and to the destruction of ecosystems."
Dormers,
brothers and sisters with equipment
Cambodia is one of God's creations and it is
beautiful country. The streets of every village are lined with houses on
stilts, smiling people, busy cycles and motorbikes. But they are also strewn
with litter.
In Sihanouk
Ville I witnessed people throwing the rubbish everywhere on the beach when it
was raining, the rubbish got into the sea. With so many sellers living by
getting benefits from the sea which means if the beach was clean there would be
more tourists coming to visit, it must be tempting to toss away garbage, which
is conveniently swept away. It’s hard to explain why this is a bad thing.
Sihanouk Ville
After sin came into the world, man started to change their minds not to
listen to God anymore and they have walked by their own ways, they don't care
about God's creation or other people and they have thrown the rubbish
everywhere to damage God's creation and destroy other people's health that's
why we asked all the students who have stayed in the dormitory to go to
Sihanouk Ville to pick up the rubbish on the beach even though not 100% clean
but better than we do nothing. Actually there are many places in Cambodia but
we decided to choose Sihanouk Ville because we thought that it is one of the
famous resorts for tourists like going there to refresh their feeling at the
weekend or holiday.
Dormers
on the way to Sihanouk Ville
We hired one bus with 45 seats to go to Sihanouk Ville while we were on the high
way many new dormers felt excited because it was their first time to see the
mountains look beautiful through the windows. In our plan we would start to
pick up the rubbish by 2 pm on December1, 2012 so we had to get up early
morning around 3 am to prepare and to be ready and the bus left by 4 am that's
why many dormers were sleeping on the bus, even though It was a little bit
sleepy but they were happy to go there , one picked up the rubbish and second
one to have a swim and refresh their feeling. We are so blessed to have second
BEC in Sihanouk Ville because there were many dormers if we had paid for the
guest house it would be much money, instead of staying in guest house we stayed
in the BEC we spent a night over there.

They
were picking up the rubbish with safe equipment and also we separated the
rubbish into two parts because we had two kinds of plastic bags. After picking
up they had a swim together then played football, evening time we came back to
the BEC to sleep and in the morning we had memorial meeting together, after the
meeting we went back to beach to have a swim
again and then had lunch on the beach by cooking ourselves.
Around 3 pm we came
back to Phnom Penh and got to the dormitory back around 9 pm. Everyone felt
happy with this program so much because what we had done make people thinking
about throwing the rubbish everywhere and also we have had close relationship
with community chief. We want to see Cambodia be clean in the future.
Once again we are so blessed to have money for
this program otherwise we couldn't do it because we have to pay for bus fee and
food. If God's willing we would go again next year.
God's blessing!
Brother Him
